About Us

The ASC Association of Illinois (ASCAI) has been promoting excellence in outpatient surgery for over twenty years.

The Association is the only organization devoted exclusively to representing the interests of licensed-ASCs throughout Illinois.

The Association provides members with information and representation on issues important to ASCs and to the physicians and patients who we serve.

ASCAI provides leadership and advocacy on:

  • Certificate of Need Issues
  • IDPH Rules & Regulations for ASCs
  • State Healthcare Provider Data Collection
  • Illinois Cancer Incidence Reporting
  • IDPH Healthcare Adverse Event Reporting
  • ASTC Licensing Board Activities
  • Medicare & Medicare Conditions for Participation
  • Healthcare Provider Credentialing

ASCAI provides our members with information on pending legislation and other regulatory efforts at both the state and national levels.  Our members have served on the boards and committees of several national healthcare organizations including AAASC, the ASC Association, FASA and AORN.  We are proud that Illinois ASC leaders have extended their expertise to the national scene.

The Association provides our members with access to up-to-date information and resources needed to keep current with the ever-evolving field of ambulatory healthcare.  We are joined by vendors, suppliers and other organizations committed to promoting excellence in ambulatory surgery.

Founded in 1988 as the Illinois Freestanding Surgery Center Association, ASCAI continues as a strong voice for promoting excellence in ambulatory health care.
